Club: The Markers | This is one of The Markers co-founders. I was introduced to Steamboat Bill recently and he told me about this site. Thought I would say hello and tell you a little bit about our unique "Preview Membership" (at the request of Steamboat). I think the best overview of the program can be found in a recent newsletter we sent to our list of prospective members: The Markers Club Newsletter Feel free to check that out at your leisure. Let me know if anyone has any questions. See you on the links. ![]() |

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | Welcome to the forum and thank you for introducing yourself. The one question about Markers that is most on my mind is the following. With a proposed member to home ratio of 9 to 1, how can members take advantage of their opportunity to use up to 56 days per year? I understand that you may expect that not all members will take advantage of the extra days because of the extra $250 per day, but what is the true occupancy level at these numbers? |

As I said before, I love golf, but golf doesn't love me. After seeing Tiger, Phil, Vijay, etc. at Doral last week, I am even more amazed at how good they are.

Club: The Markers | Good questions. The key word in your question is up to 35 space available days. Historically, and on average our members travel 17-28 days per year. In the family Markers membership, 21 days are advance nights, which equates to 21 days x 9 members/residence ratio = 189 planned nights of 365 available days, which is 52% of our inventory availability. So, if 100% of our members used all their planned time, 48% remains for space available travel. Also keep in mind that with many clubs leasing homes on a short term basis and counting them in their ratios (which we do not do), those member:home ratios aren't apple to apple comparisons between clubs. It behooves anyone considering joining a Destination Club to consider how much time they think they will travel in a given year and pick the best plan for their needs, that is after they pick the club that best fits their passions and travel lifestyle. We are quenching the passions of only 325 golfers and their families. ![]() |

This number is significant as their goal is to have 36 homes (get it...36 holes) and maintain a 9 member to 1 home ratio. 325 members / 36 homes = 9 member to home ratio. ----------------- I have two questions: Is The Markers going to buy 36 homes in 36 different locations, or are they going to double or triple up on the most popular locations? Are you going to buy something that will give members access to The Masters?

Club: The Markers | Is The Markers going to buy 36 homes in 36 different locations, or are they going to double or triple up on the most popular locations? Currently, The Markers plans on selecting 24 homes in different destinations. The remaining 12 are reserved for Member feedback, which could include multiple homes in the same destinations. The Club is as much the Member's as it is ours, so their feedback is essential. Are you going to buy something that will give members access to The Masters? Through our Players Council (The Markers - Golfers Residence Club) our members can already get access to most PGA events, including The Masters. This is another reason we are the club for golfers and their families. We will also be hosting our Club Championship Tournament (and other member/guest events) at PGA venues, rather than being stuck the same 18 holes at your local country club day in and day out. ![]() |
