But for PE legacy members, Christmas & New Years are the only 'holidays'; anything else (spring break, Thanksgiving, Presidents week, etc.) can be booked as far out as you want, and you can book as many as you want... just limited by your 28 day cap at any time... And I've been told that all UE members will be in the lottery system starting with Xmas 2010. So from my point of view, holiday access is a big reason NOT to convert...

ok...I have about 20 questions for the interview.

Thanks for all your input and I will try to publish the interview in a few days after my trip to Orlando.

I had a fantastic meeting with Ultimate Escapes today at their headquarters. I arrived around noon and actually left their offices at 7:30pm.

Jim spend about 7 (seven) hours with me (along with a few other executives) discussing Ultimate Escapes, answering several of my questions, and answering most of the DC4MS user questions. I have tons of notes and will try to publish the interview by this weekend.....I am tired!

I forgot to thank them for treating me to a nice lunch....very classy bunch of guys and it was very nice to have such a warm reception.

"other execs" = UE or other companies?

Sorry for the confusion...the meeting was just Jim T and myself for the majority of the time and then we met with the UE CFO and VP Sales, staff, etc.

Funny, but the 7 hours flew by very fast. I can't recall EVER being in a meeting that long in my entire life, but it really only seemed to be like an hour or two. Jim is a fascinating person and we had some traded some really great stories.

I am looking forward to the summary. It will be great information supplementing the "official" UE channels.

Did you discuss with Jim, Dana, Phil, or Steve how they would feel about letting the membership know about this forum and inviting them to join the UE forum at least as a source of communication with other members and rather "annonymous" communication to the club? Given there is not a similar UE as ER user forum they may find this attractice and also help drum up additional users of this terrific forum. Just a thought.

willmyclubmakeit, that has come up before. i dont remember if it was publicly or not, so i will not comment further, besides saying at this point no DC has officially informed members about this forum, AFAIK.

It's good to know that Jim and others were able to take out such a large chunk of time. DC4MS is still at it's nascent stage but is the best knowledge base for prospective members.

Looking forward to the details.

None of the Destination Clubs has actually offered to e-mail their members about this site, mention us in a flyer, or endorse us in any way. HCC did offer to notify a handful of members about this site and PE actually interviewed "me" for their magazine (that is now terminated before it was sent out).

Most clubs are kinda "worried or concerned" about the "unfiltered" discussion that take place here. They are concerned about opening Pandora's box if they take an official response and are concerned with posters that are 100% anonymous.

I am thinking of ways to improved this site to address some of their concerns, but this is easier said than done as I actually enjoy our discussions, debates, conflicts, etc.

DC4MS said he had a 7 hour meeting with Jim and many of us (or at least I) are anxiously awaiting his report.

I have not forgotten this...it is just taking a little longer than I expected as I am not a full-time journalist .

I can hardly wait to see this report. When do you think you might have it done, DC4MS?

DC4MS, when you say, "I am thinking of ways to improve this site to address some of their concerns, but this is easier said than done as I actually enjoy our discussions, debates, conflicts, etc.," what sorts of improvements are you considering making to this site to address some of their concerns? What are some of their concerns which improvements to this website might address?
