Private Escapes Platinum has announced the addition of a brand new residence located in one of the Pacific Northwest’s preeminent resort locations, The Pronghorn Club, just outside of Bend Oregon (Luxury golf homes in Bend, Oregon at the Pronghorn private golf community.). Located in Oregon’s high desert region, the area boasts abundant sunshine and an extremely temperate climate year round. In fact, their claim to fame is what they call, “The Triple Play” which is done with some frequency there. Translated, it means skiing in the morning, playing golf in the afternoon and fly fishing in the evening. And each of those activities on some of the countries best ski mountains (Mount Bachelor), golf courses (side by side Nicklaus and Fazio Signature Courses) and rivers.

The luxurious home is brand new, just completed in December and is simply gorgeous. A mountain style residence, it was built with generous use of stone, hardwood and timbers. Dozens of windows highlight the beautiful pines and golf course, which is ideally located: close enough to see it but far enough away to not have play invade your privacy. Over 3,600 square feet, it offers four bedrooms. Each bedroom suite here includes its own bathroom - complete with warmed floors - and there is also a powder room on the main floor. This residence also features hickory hardwood flooring, gas fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen, and an outdoor patio on the main level. On the second floor is a bedroom-accessible deck with an outdoor fireplace. Oh, and did we mention this home has its own private hot tub as well?

The clubhouse is first rate, both extravagant yet very comfortable. There are two great restaurants and a bar there as well as a fitness center and small spa (an interim arrangement until they finish the grand spa later this year).

I put the quality of golf, on both courses, on par with Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst, Kiawah Island, i.e. world class. It is the only place in the US where a Fazio and Nicklaus Signature Course are side by side.

Outside the gates of Pronghorn, in any direction, are thousands of acres of BLM (Bureau of Land Management) land offering great cycling, hiking and fishing. In a miracle case of land acquisition, the developers of Pronghorn were able to acquire 640 acres in the very heart of tens of thousands of acres that will never be developed. From virtually any location at Pronghorn, the nearby mountains, featuring Broken Top, Twin Sisters, Mount Bachelor and even Mount Hood add to the allure of this magical setting. And in those mountains lies some of the best skiing in the west, located within a 45 minute drive. The Club at Pronghorn also has a luxury motor coach that travels from the resort to the Mt. bachelor twice a day in the winter season. It features flat screen TVs, a kitchen and bar, and outdoor barbeque capabilities.

And if you have had enough of this resort setting, which is tough to do, you are a 25 minute drive to one of the great small cities in the US: Bend. An eclectic array of restaurants, shopping, brew pubs, wine bars and outdoor concert venues add so much to the allure of this location.
