(It does seem odd to me that they are STILL marketing a separate product from PE when the merger is soon to come... HOW could this be a good thing in the long run for the new UE? And, this "offer" is for new memberships through May 31! From what I have read, I thought the merger was supposed to take place in April... )

Ha! I was just about to post this too.

I came to the same conclusion. If this deal is good through the end of May, it means the deal is unlikely to close until June at the earliest.

Bonus points to whoever posted on this forum recently that the April deadline mentioned in the Halogen Guides article would likely mean June.

Getting back to the May 31 deadline for the new UR offer, it may not mean that the deal won't be done until June. The more I think about it, the more I realize that the deal may still happen in April or perhaps bleed into May, but maybe June 1st is the date when the planned membership price hikes post-merger go into effect.

Then again, save for Lusso (and perhaps HCC), it's probably a tough time for most of the other clubs to start raising prices. The fact the UR is making steep promotions even with the Ventures Equity acquistion and the pending Private Escape merger makes me wonder if rates will really go up "in a few weeks" as the website has been asserting for several months, whether the deal goes through or not.
