Club: Ultimate Escapes Signature | If you look at the brochures/ads/publications put out by Private Escapes, they sure have a knack of putting out some breathtaking snapshots. Kudos to the photographer/photographers. It has a funny way of turning Oregon? into Oregon! |

Club: A&K Residence Club | I don't get this destination. Most DC destinations are pretty obvious travel hot spots. Bend seems more random. What am I missing? Quintess also has a house here. Anyone been to this destination? Last edited by TarheelTraveler; 03-15-2008 at 07:47 PM. |

Club: UE Signature, HCC, Freedom Yacht Club | I haven't been, but we have friends who go there every year, and they swear that it is one of the most gorgeous places they've ever been to, with great golf, amazing fly-fishing, and skiing at Mt. Bachelor... My only complaint is that it is a pain to get to unless you are near a hub with nonstops to Portland; for me it is two flights to Portland + a 3.5 hr drive, or three flights... |

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | I am sure it is very nice but I don't know how high the demand will be. There are many other destinations I would have thought of before Bend, Oregon and it is not high on my list of places to visit. I am sure that for people who live in the Pacific Northwest, it may be a great vacation spot. I would have chosen it perhaps as my 75th destination, but I could be wrong. I'm sure it is nice but I would like to see what the occupancy numbers will be after a year or two. |

Club: Ultimate Escapes Signature | A lot of times it's just a matter of a club getting too good a deal to pass on. PE publishes its list of planned acquisitions on its site for all to see. Rarely are the new properties the ones listed on that master plan. Like the Watercolor properties in Florida last year (or Cap Cana this year), real estate acquisition strategies are often about opportunities rather than member requests. |

| a lot of people are serious golfers, and it sounded like those courses were well regarded. City of Redmond, Oregon - Flight Schedules looks like RDM has 7 nonstops DL from east coast > FLL/BWI/DCA/JFK/EWR/PHL - SLC - RDM Last edited by Kagehitokiri; 03-16-2008 at 09:46 AM. |

Club: Ultimate Escapes Signature | It's definitely not open yet. There is plenty of info on Cap Cana itself at the official website -- Cap Cana -- but most of it is still being built. The original Cap Cana announcement by PE was nearly a year ago, with projected occupancy towards the end of 2008. Like most new construction, that obviously isn't a firm date. |

It's surprising that PE hasn't targetted the year-round golf properties more. Take Florida. Save for the obscure Florida panhandle, the only owned property in South and Central Florida is the Trump place in Sunny Isles (where the destination club symposium is taking place). That's a great strip of beach, but no golf. They do have some seasonal rentals like Naples (no golf), Orlando (amazing golf at Reunion), but one would think they'd be all over the market. Even some of their Caribbean properties (Turks & Caicos) are resorts without golf courses. That's fine. I'd rather see great properties come online than some influenced by the proximity of golf (like Currituck Club, instead of getting a beachfront house further South in the OBX), though sometimes you get the best of both worlds (i.e. - Abaco Club). | |

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | Apparently they also have the best skiing in Oregon at Mt. Bachelor. I don't know anyone who has gone and don't know how good it is one of the largest skiable acres in the US at over 3300. One year they had 222 days of skiing. |
