Club: DC4MS.com | Ultimate Escapes - Comprehensive Membership Analysis Tool DestinationClubForums.com is proud to announce the release of their new Ultimate Escapes - Comprehensive Membership Analysis Tool (version 1.0). Rather than create a single Excel spreadsheet template that encompasses every Destination Club, we decided to focus our efforts on creating the ultimate membership analysis tool for individuals considering membership in Ultimate Escapes as there are many unique variables that are unique to this club. The Excel spreadsheet templates has all the Ultimate Escapes membership fees (June 2008) and options already entered and users can manipulate several variables and observe the immediate changes in the variety of reporting categories. This single file will work with all versions of Microsoft Excel. There are three different worksheet tabs to allow different forecasts for a variety of purposes depending on the individual opinion on the value of the cost of capital for membership. There are several situations where this may or may not be beneficial. In addition, the annual dues are FIXED to the June 2008 rates, are not increased, even though they may increase yearly due to inflation. The First worksheet tab (UE Membership Analysis) is the simplest and cleanest layout as it presents data to an individual that is not interested in factoring any capital costs for the membership fees. This analysis only requires user input for the "Duration of Membership," "Future value of membership," "Membership type" and "Additional available nights." The Second worksheet tab (Capital Costs) is more complex as it presents data to an individual that is interested in factoring capital costs for the membership fees and this rate is Compounded Annually. This analysis requires user input for the "Capital Costs" along with the other data from the first worksheet. The Third worksheet tab allows a calculation of the future value of a membership. This is important because the future value of membership is used to determine the cost per night of the membership fee. Ultimate Escapes refunds 80% of "current value" membership. The challenge of this tool was creating a field to calculate the "future value" of membership fees. Please download this file, experiment with the variables, and post your opinion, observations, problems, bugs, or suggestions here. |

Club: UE Signature | you may also want to factor in MAP (membership appreciation points). At Signature Bronze you get (or at least in UR you did) 4 more days per year than the 14 posted using the MAP points or you get about $700 of services (e.g., lift tickets, golf, private chefs, etc). Hence I would suggest modeling this as it could significantly impact the cost per night especially at the lower tiers of membership. MAP points are in relation to dues paid so for $10,000 of annual dues youi get 4 additional bankable days and $20,000 8 days or you can convert at the ratio above (4 days = 10,000 points = $700). |

Club: High Country Club | I thought Map points are not longer part of the program for new members. I could be wrong |
