Club: LUSSO Collection | While this isn't going to be quite as lengthy as my Copper Mountain review (I am realizing my limitations as a writer, plus listening to hammering and sawing at my own home as I type!), it certainly isn't a reflection of the LUSSO home at Aspen Highlands! The attached PDF indicates that I should also lose the abillity to attempt use of a camera in the future! Part of the problem is that I was forced to take pictures upon our evening arrival (which, thanks to American Airlines, was delayed 3 hours!), or face mounds of clothing and whatever else teenagers can pile everywhere! Oh well, I tried!Meanwhile, back to the home... with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, media room, family room, and a living room with vaulted ceilings, wood floors and fabulous decor, this home is notably outstanding! The LUSSO team absolutely knows how to make a home feel inviting... every known amenity is included, right down to the computer so that there is no need to schlep your own laptop! Three wet bars (main living, media room, and family room) housed every gadget or glass necessary to entertain, or just keep the troops at bay, and the hot tub out on the snow-melt patio with views up the slopes of Aspen Highlands made relaxing a no-brainer! Three of the four bedrooms featured king-sized beds -- with the fabulous pillow-top mattresses and bedding we have become spoiled by -- while the other bedroom features twin beds of the same type! Bathrooms all included dual-head showers or bath/shower combinations complete with beautiful travertine and decorative trims. On the 3rd floor, the master bedroom features a beautiful fireplace, as does the living, family room and media room. All include gas logs with a "switch" to operate them... safety, convenience and warmth! Access to the slopes couldn't be easier... enter the Ritz (at which members have privileges for the spa, fitness center and pools) proceed upstairs and directly to the slopes! When the day is through, you can ski directly to the driveway (or the back porch) of the residence! The concierge, Jen, did an awesome job of coordinating reservations (dinner & spa), offering suggestions, reserving ski school for the boys, and having lift tickets for our guests waiting in the home upon our arrival! (Two USSA gold passes are at the home for member use, billed at $50 per day... quite a savings over daily lift tickets!) Just like all of the LUSSO concierges we have enjoyed working with throughout our travels, she was extremely helpful, and always available for any question/concern that arose! (...right down to how we ship home a "trough" full of items we purchased from a charity auction during one of our evenings in Aspen!) ![]() Aspen Highlands offers a variety of terrain to satisfy any level of skier... steeps, bumps and smooth slopes! If that isn't enough to tempt you, Snowmass, Buttermilk and of course Aspen Mountain are just a free shuttle ride away! Or, if you prefer, load up the crew into the Lincoln Navigator (complete with ski rack), back out of the heated garage and drive yourself!

Club: DC4MS.com | Very nice review and I love your PDF photos...especially the arrow to the LUSSO home. It looks like you had great conditions while you were there. Try to grab a photo of the Navigator next time. How many miles was on the vehicle? What type of computer did they have there (desktop, laptop, printer, internet)? I think this is a great feature that is overlooked by many Destination Clubs. I would LOVE to travel without my laptop if I knew a computer was available for use at various destinations. It would cost less than $1,500 to set-up homes with a nice desktop, laser printer, MS Office, and high speed internet. I would then be able to travel with just a USB data thumb drive I also like the relationship with the Ritz as this is a great selling feature and I am surprised that they would offer that, especially since Destination Clubs compete with their fractional PRCs. |

I travel with a U3 USB device that I can store my logins on -- that way, I can always access Destination Club Forums, even if I can't remember my password! Quote:
Just FWIW, the unit shown in the video associated with the above link is the LUSSO home prior to it having the new furnishings.

Club: Ultimate Elite | 3DH: Butch's Lobster Bar??????? I went to Snowmass once or twice a year for about 20 years. I had heard people mention Butch's. Its just up the hill from the Silvertree where I usually stayed. I was not impressed. I did make it a point to go to Pinon's every year. The Price Fixed menu at 6pm was a fabulous deal. Had several good meals at Jerome's and Little Nell as well and the old Ajax tavern. I also liked Olive's at the St Regis. As for DC properties in the Aspen area, I have never understood why more clubs didn't look in the newer areas being developed on Owl Creek Rd near the Twin Creeks lift. There are some newer 3-4 bedroom townhomes there. The dirty little secret is that most people ski Snowmass and eat and shop in Aspen. I would far prefer a nice property ski in/out at Snowmass than something in town in Aspen or at Aspen Highlands. |

We actually loved Butch's! (In our 30-years of skiing at Aspen/Snowmass, we have never dined at Olives, Pinons, or the Little Nell or Jerome... while some are obviously newer, the remainder are simply not our taste.) To each his/her own...As to Twin Creeks, have you ever skied Snowmass in the latter part of the season? That area is HORRIBLE when the slopes start getting slushy, and is often closed as a result!

| in snowmass, exclusive resorts has residences at owl creek, as well as the timbers. (9 total - townhomes) i was surprised neither of solstice's in aspen is ski-in/out. (detached single family) ciel has one ski-in/out on snowmass, and then one in town in aspen. (detached single family) |

Club: Ultimate Elite | 3DH: No I haven't skiied there late in the year. I see from Kagehitokiri's post( I'm going to have to learn to spell that) that ER owns homes at Two Creeks. I liked the Timbers Club and almost bought there, but decided I didn't want that much Aspen time. |

We thought that the access was great... I skied right to the driveway (first to the patio, only to realize that I would be carrying skis through the living and dining room!).
