Default Quintess Homes for sale???

Luxury Real Estate.com - Quintess in Boulder, CO

Does this mean Quintess is selling these homes, or is this just a strange marketing idea?

They got rid of their homes in Costa Rica and Reynold's Plantation which were not popular. It sure looks like they are selling these. I am on their mailing list and have not received much information lately. They had made an announcement that they will be eliminating some of the less desireable properties, but this list includes Napa, Kiawah and Beaver Creek. I am not surprised about Amelia Island, Carefree, La Quinta, Cabo and Jackson Hole. Probably Amelia Island, CArefree and La Quinta were not as popular as some of their other homes. They have the much nicer homes at Jackson Hole at Amangani and Teton Village and maybe they felt two were enough. They have 12 homes in Cabo so they can get rid of 2. I am a little surprised about the home in Telluride where they hae only two. Maybe someone could contact them and find out what is going on here.

I called Quintess and they said that this is part of their business plan to sell a home after about 5 years of ownership or so and buy a new one.

They did indicate that they will keep the member to home ratio the same and will buy new homes to replace the ones that get sold.

...but did you get the prices on them??? Nice to know they will be replaced... when I found that, I feared they were reducing the "inventory" for whatever reason!

Something doesn't sound right about this. They haven't owned any of those homes for nearly 5 years. I've always thought their business model was too high end for the membership fees compared to other clubs.

WOW!
They have removed the Quintess Listings. I just checked again and they are gone. I guess this was raising too many questions.

Fortunately, there is something called an "Internet Cache" and I will post a JPG of the screen display from my browser....very strange indeed!

Enjoy!

Thanks DC4MS for copying the cache, and showing that what I had linked DID actually exist!

how do we know this wasnt a marketing thing for the club?

amelia island was their only beachfront property wasnt it?

reading these sorts of forums is a standard business intelligence practice nowadays. lots of companies monitor flyertalk.com very closely, although in its case, its mainly to try and avoid pricing errors.

If this was a marketing thing, it backfired

Someone sent me a PM and thought that this may be an error on the part of “Luxury Real Estate” because they have a section of their site (luxuryrealestate.com) that is about "Private Residence Clubs" and it has a handful of clubs listed.

This individual guessed that Quintess accidently got listed in that section, but because they also loaded in some of their homes as examples (for the PRC section) the homes got into the main For Sale area. (i.e. it may be a bug in the LRE website, because LRE are trying to get into promoting the clubs).

However, I personally called Quintess this afternoon and the secretary that answered the phone knew about the listings (but not Destination Club Forums) and stated that this is part of Quintess plan to keep their portfolio up to member standards and to sell some older homes and add some new locations.

I also asked if the member to home ratio would be kept the same (in the event of a sale) and she said “yes”, thus that indicated that they would need to buy a new home.

-----------------------

Here is something interesting about the Luxury Real Estate listing web site.

They are 100% WRONG by calling a “Destination Club” a “Private Residence Club”

They only list four Destination Clubs:
BelleHavens
Quintess, LRW
Exclusive Resorts
Private Escapes

Luxury Real Estate.com - Private Residence Clubs

Thanks for posting this.

Everyone here should know that I personally know MSMEAD (I actually found out he was a Quintess member at a friends party). I asked him to check into this and post any updates.

Also, MSMEAD is an avid flier.
