that is not the case. they dont even choose the best properties/destinations/etc. again, i am confused by their offerings considering they claim the average net worth of their members is between $10MM and $20MM.

The weather reference was with respect to the values. My property is in Grand Cayman BTW.

This particular resort has a very flexible rental pool so I don't need to use VRBO and it's almost break even factoring in leverage so no real complaints there. I do enjoy going there - we went down for 3.5 weeks this winter and likely will go for another couple weeks in late Nov this year - great diving . Having said that we still like to travel elsewhere during the year. GC is great for quiet recharge time but we like active vacations as well - hence the interest in adding a mixture to the portfolio as I recognize we are going to buy everywhere we want to travel.

Are they something that you could still get enjoyment from (or possibly rent through VRBO?) should you decide to go ahead with a DC membership? This might help in your ultimate decision.

As to the size of DC homes, I truly think you will find that you enjoy the space... even if it is something in which you use only 60%. And, when you do bring along friends and family, it makes a huge difference when you aren't having to search out an "alone" spot!

Good luck with your decision, regardless what you decide!

Michael obviously has good taste and I'd be very pleased to take him up on his offer as I'm sure it would add to my education about DC's .

LTTravel ... don't you have enough now? You know it's not a free dinner - it's a sales pitch to an exclusive audience a-la-timeshare with first class air and a 5 bdrm house for the night included!

Kage,

What exactly is not the case? The OIL program is an outstanding addition to the ER menu and well-loved by many members so far. It really helps to address prime time availability and so far the choices have been up to ER standards. I have no idea what the club is claiming is the average member net worth - your numbers sound low to me.

Looks like some are pros at getting through them with no problems and get a free dinner. I thought I would give it a try. I am probably a better prospect than most.

Begging for food is a bit unseemly isn't it?

Fine! Anyone who finds themselves in Denver can give me a call, and we can go out to dinner. Elway's is a great local steak house at the Ritz, and I will make sure you are well fed, don't have to beg, and let you bore me with your stories of how great your club is.

The kicker is, when I come to where you live, you have to treat me, AND bring a friend who is interested in joining a DC.....
