Club: Strip | I live on the East Coast so HI is pretty far to fly, especially with my young son(2). It is obviously a great destination, I was just wonder what peoples feelings are about HI, the travel vs the experience? Would people go there multiple times in a year? |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Interesting question, as I have pondered the same, myself! While I do like Hawaii and what it offers, I prefer the Caribbean and/or Costa Rica. We are actually somewhat "centrally" located here in Texas, so much closer to Hawaii than yourself. However, I would never consider returning to Hawaii more than once a year due to the long flight. There are many here who travel there at least once a year, but if memory serves me, they are also located on the West coast... hence, much closer than you and I. The region offers beautiful scenery and fabulous beaches, but nothing I cannot enjoy "closer to home"!

Club: Exclusive Resorts | We go to Hawaii 2 - 3 times a year and plan to eventually buy a home there. We love Hawaii for the following reasons. 1. There's very low unemployment, people are very friendly and it's very safe and clean. You can drink the water! They speak English! 2. The Hawaiian culture is alive and well and accessible to anyone interested. 3. Unlike the Caribbean, Hawaii is truly a year-round destination with an average temp of 80 degrees. 4. There is a very strong emphasis on conserving the environment and protecting marine life. 5. There are excellent fine-dining choices on all the islands along with incredible spas and fabulous accomodations. 6. All the islands are just so beautiful. 7. If you're a golfer there are a staggering number of incredible courses. The only negatives I can think of is that it is very expensive and the water in some places is not as turquoise blue as the Caribbean. There are incredible beaches if you know where to go. Waikiki is pretty congested now, too. We rarely go to Oahu. We've been so many times, I actually love Hawaiian music, now! My favorite trip is to Hawaii and I can relax the minute I step off the plane. Can't wait for my next trip.... It is a very long trip from the East Coast, I must admit, but if you have time to break it up with a West Coast stop on the return that could help. |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Proof and further evidence of why DC's work... we prefer the Caribbean, while many others do prefer Caribbean! (And, we are actually entertaining the idea or purchasing a fractional at Abaco to have for the long-haul... yet another destination we love, and others dislike, terribly!)

Club: UE Signature | We and our kids love Hawaii---especially the Big Island and Maui. My kids who are still young have been to Hawaii about 6 or 7 times. Its part of the US, almost perfect weather, little poverty, safe, terrific food, views, people.....tough to beat except the flight time but if you can go direct even that is not that bad although service to Hawaii is being reduced by the major airlines which may increase cost and make it more expesive to get there but again no worse and probably better than the Carribean for our family as there are direct flights from Chicago (or were at least). |

or for mid end, larger accommodations - island hideaway has a 3BR on 15Kft2.then theres amanpulo in phillipines. and in caribbean there is petit st vincent and cayo espanto. it certainly would have been interesting if ciel had kept operating, looked like they were planning to acquire a four seasons bora bora residence. ![]() taunovo bay would still be viable though, with a couple of 4BRs for $2.4MM. Club: Exclusive Resorts | Bora Bora used to be my idea of the perfect island but now the Tahitian islands are going the way of Hawaii in terms of tourism. The first time I went to Tahiti there were only 2 or 3 hotels on Bora Bora and only one small cruise ship in the islands. Those days are over ... |

| taunovo bay has the only viable residences in south pacific. (4BR $2.4MM) ER planned to buy there back when it was going to be a rosewood. four seasons bora bora is $10MM+ and i believe wakaya club also sells plots of land for quite a bit. DHH's is at their own resort, and was like the owners residence. (not rented) Quintess Michael, @ pearl resorts. le tahaa is their only lux property.Last edited by Kagehitokiri; 07-11-2008 at 03:08 PM. |

Club: A&K Residence Club | A&K also does trips there. With plan nights, you can do a cruise aboard a small 118 passenger boat and then add extensions to Fiji or Tahiti for example. MV Clipper Odyssey, Clipper Odyssey, Clipper Odyssey Lost Islands of the Pacific - Abercrombie & Kent Inc Papua New Guinea, South Pacific, - Abercrombie & Kent Inc I wish I could take the time off of work to travel to some of these more remote places. |
