Club: The Veras Group, LLC | We just met with one of the executives of this new firm yesterday, and were very impressed. They have some AMAZING experiences available to their members. Also, members can use up to 30% of their annual "points" for Registry Collection hotel usage--a great benefit for a "non-sporting" spouse!

Club: The Veras Group, LLC | That is right. It is kind of an interesting question, isn't it? Is there a forum yet for what is a destination club and what isn't? I.e. most clubs lease some properties--and some lease them all. Where is the boundary line? We have talked about that a lot, given our interest in focusing on the destination club industry. My sense is that Presnell is a good fit for someone who doesn't want to have to do the work to prepare these experiences, and doesn't mind paying for that simplicity. A good fit for the right person or company. But not necessarily for everyone.

| rental brokers dont even lease.. a destination club owns properties that are not open to public. IMHO they are all complementary offerings, not really competing. |

Club: A&K Residence Club | What's up with all of the rental brokers (including TTT and these guys) now trying to turn their brokerages into "destination clubs?" Are they losing business to DCs? Jim - I'm not aware of any destination clubs (still in business that is) that lease all of their properties. Who are you referring to? |

Club: The Veras Group, LLC | Kage made a good edit, re long-term leasing versus renting on demand. TT, you are right to mention "still in business", for sure. One Key World rents & leases all their properties, for example, but freely acknowledges it and calls themselves a destination club. Everlands is another group that is planning to buy homes but to my knowledge, doesn't own any yet. Those are the only groups I am currently aware of, and Everlands is still in the intro stages of growth. Presnell Sporting Collection does not call themselves a destination club, actually. They call it a membership, "similar in concept to a private destination club." TT, I think it's just a hot term these days. I like this group, though, because they spend a lot of time vetting the experiences. I watched their very high-end DVD, and Presnell spends tens of thousands of dollars making a very high-end DVD--on each experience--and really puts each location through the ropes. Not the worst job in the world, but still very much a job, as I know they have turned down several locations/experiences as well. They also provide an in-house planning team that equals most destination clubs. It's an interesting concept. They are targeting the amateur or semi-pro type sportsman, who enjoys the experience, but doesn't necessarily want to spend days planning and preparing a trip. True destination club? Probably not. Good option for some? Definitely.

| the only thing i find ridiculous is the rental brokers (calling themselves "destination clubs") charging several hundred thousand dollar deposits. i guess you might be able to still get discounts to work out, but i personally would never prepay that much... TTT is an exchange company. everlands buys/owns resorts, similar to YCW. onekey doesnt rent anything do they? i thought they got discounts by guaranteeing a certain number of nights a year or something like that.. |

Club: High Country Club | I think you meant to say timeshare usage not "hotel" since the Registry Collection is predominantly, if not completely, timeshare properties. |

Club: High Country Club | I was pointing out the fact that the Registry Collection was in fact made up primarily of timeshare properties - something the folks here seem to find unacceptable. I fail to understand the purpose of your post other than you seem to have a need to try to contradict every post I make on these boards - if you'd prefer I simply leave just say so because this is getting tiring. |

Club: FS Aviara - HCC?? - what next | I guess I am the only one to see the Irony in a DC for people who like to KILL THINGS -- any thing and all things ... No wonder I am having a hard time finding a DC that specializes in feeding chipmunks and squirrels. OK - send the gun lobby against me, now ... Greg |
