Club: DC4MS.com | This is not a destination club, but a "potential VRBO competitor" and still in beta testing. The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts ---------------------------- One company that has been leading the way in the luxury vacation-home rental arena is the Society of Leisure Enthusiasts. “Vacation rentals are a great alternative to luxury hotel or owning your own vacation home,” says Michael McFadden, CEO and co-founder of the Denver, Colorado-based company. “You enjoy the ambience of high-end accommodations and save money, versus staying in a luxury hotel or woning property.” Another bonus is homeowners in desirable vacation destinations can list their properties for rent on The Society’s website and use the money to offset the cost of renting vacation properties for their own travels. With more than 2,000 qualified luxury properties available in forty-five different destinations around the world and new inventory being added all of the time, The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts offers ample exotic locales and unique properties to choose from. |

Club: UE Signature, HCC, Freedom Yacht Club | Very strange (and somewhat annoying) naming system; I clicked on 'Mykonos Villa' (The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts -> Properties -> MYKONOS VILLA), which turned out to be a condo in California, and then on 'Villa Firenze' (The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts -> Properties -> Villa Firenze) which was in Costa Rica!

| Junior Member | Thanks for the note on The Society of Leisure Enthusiasts. We are still in beta but should have our new interface with an optimized search out in August. Regarding the home names, those are the names chosen by the home owners so unfortunately we don't have too much control over them (even if they are confusing). As far as our inventory, we currently have over 3,000 properties across 120 destinations live on our site and several hundred that can be accessed by inquiries only. |

Club: FS Aviara - HCC?? - what next | Some time ago on TUG Steamboat Bill ( I think) mentioned flipkey - so I bookmarked the site and look it up every so often FlipKey Blog - Expanding the Vacation Rental Market » Blog Archive » The Society: New Service Focused on High-End Luxury Rentals The link above mentions each rental company knows the other .... so Society -- will you offer guestbook comments? I have been frustrated by rental sites because of poor pictures ( or lack of pictures since sites owned by Homeaway (VRBO and many others ) charge for more pictures --- and by a lack of true user comments. Guess I am too much of a tripadvisor believer ... but you do have to discount the extremes on either end of the reviews. Regards Greg H |

| Junior Member | We do offer guest book options -- in fact we strongly encourage comments for any home listed on TheSociety.com. We do not charge for extra pictures. We have space for 20 images per property. In short, we do not charge a classified fee, rather a rather nominal referral fee. Members (travelers) do not pay a fee. Our service is free for travelers - similar to the Starwood Alliance or Leading Hotels of the World. Our value is simple: we partner with the best managers and agencies in a region so we can can assure our travelers they will have the highest quality service and quality homes. We don't let just anyone list a home. We're still in beta (you can make inquiries though) and in August we'll have a few new features coming out as well as several new membership benefits/perks. If you're interested in viewing some screen shots of our new interface just shoot me an email - mike[at]thesociety.com. I'd love to get some of the forums feedback. |
