Club: A&K Residence Club | I was a little surprised about how strong the independent/boutique chain hotels were, and the notable absence of Ritz-Carlton hotels. If you look back at prior years, it's interesting to see how much the lists vary from year to year. Makes you wonder about the data. It is also interesting to see how many top places DCs have not gotten to yet. I guess there's probably a disconnect between the best places and the most popular places. |

Club: DC4MS.com | Some of my observations...there appears to be a huge anti-US bias in these lists or I am paranoid. Airlines - no US airlines represented except SouthWest (#3 Low Cost) Airport - no US locations and I like Vancouver, but it does not deserve #2 Cities - only NYC (#2) and San Francisco (#9) made the list Countries - US (#8) and India (#2)...ouch Cruises - where is Disney as they usually have very high satisfaction rates in this industry Islands - Hawaii (#17) and Cuba (#9)...ok this makes no sense at all Overseas Leisure Hotels - The Americas & the Caribbean - Parrot Cay (#3) and Bellagio (#4)...they must be kidding Tour Operators - Abercrombie & Kent (#4) interesting Villa Rental Companies - what no TTT...I am shocked ![]() |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Oh dear, you may have opened a can of worms you didn't intend to with that comment! The rest of your observations are quite interesting... I hadn't looked at it that intently, but what you bring up is intriguing...

Club: DC4MS.com | After reading the list, I thought it was done without any American input or simply they were outvoted...who knows. I was also surprised that VRBO was not mentioned, but they are not a full-service villa rental company, but I would consider them an excellent resource for renting villas. |

| rankings are routinely ridiculed in the lux hotels forum on FT. tripadvisor's are usually absolutely hilarious. TTT is an exchange company. Last edited by Kagehitokiri; 09-26-2008 at 11:04 PM. |

Club: DC4MS.com | I also see many Tripadvisor quirks that appear to be "gamed" by individuals and not always reflective of the "crowds" What ranking systems do you like best? Mobile, AAA, etc? |

| "official" ratings also include michelin, AA (UK), and qualmark (AU/NZ). |
