Default Marriott Grande Lakes Ritz Carlton, JW Marriott and now Timeshares. DC's next?

In the interest of keeping up to date on all forms of advancements in vacationing, you might find it interesting to know that Marriott has just announced 340 timeshare units for Grande Lakes in Orlando, and now the rumours abound about possible plans for the 500 acre Grande Lakes complex ... where there are two great hotels already - the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton - and a golf course. I've stayed at the Ritz a few times - very nice.

The first 300 timeshare buyers will get a special pre-construction deal but they expect that will be reached early this week as there are 200 salesmen on the launch. Not so much a cookie cutter resort as they range from 2 bedroom condos to 3 bedroom townhouses - with lockoffs for empty nesters ... prices from $24,900 to $38,900 for a week. Chicken feed for most DC prospective members ... and Marriott is a public company open for inspection!

This 3 bdrm suite is a lockoff where the smaller portion has full kitchen facilities too ... perfect for empty nesters to extend their holiday time by splitting their condos into two parts. The location could far outdistance DC's with the available facilities and amenities.

Speculation is that the next to be announced will be Ritz Private Residences and Fractionals ... and DC's on the drawing boards. Marriott has the money and the promotional power to make it all happen.

Here's a video they sent me and I put up for you to see .. must have cost a bit to produce, with amazing artist renderings, as nothing is built yet, and you can see the Ritz very close by. Looks like the big promotion guns are loading up to cash in.

Can you imagine any DC company making 300 sales in the first week?

Fantastic video animation...it is hard to believe it is not real.

Yes, I think they will easily sell 300 contracts in one week.

1. To quote Graham Kos, "Excellence is not scalable".
2. To all that are waiting for a big name public company to take a major share of the DC market in one fell swoop, the entry of A&K is just that. A lot of big names will be watching A&K. It's level of success in the DC market will be determintal to big name hospitality companies entrering into the industry.
