Default WAY off topic, but... H2 vandal caught

If you ever wondered what a vandal looks like, this should clear things up! Unbelievable, but true -- a 72 year-old man keys H2 in a Texas high school parking lot, caught on hidden surveillance cameras!

Here's the story... click here to see the video on NBC5 website.
FORT WORTH, Texas -- A man who was allegedly captured on motion-activated surveillance cameras scratching the doors of a Hummer turned himself in Friday, Southlake police said.

James Andrew Jeppe, 72, allegedly scratched two large Xs in the paint of a 2008 Hummer SUV parked in the Carroll Senior High School student lot on Sept. 5. The Hummer was equipped with a motion-activated video surveillance system that recorded the incident.

Police said they were alerted to Jeppe after several people recognized him from surveillance video that aired on local news stations.

Detectives said that Jeppe scratched the vehicle out of frustration from financial stress.

Police said they are conducting an investigation to determine if Jeppe was involved in other Hummer vandalism incidents.

Police said the offense is considered a state jail felony, punishable by confinement in a state jail between 180 days to two years and a fine not to exceed $10,000.
I am thinking he may be a bit more stressed now than he was when he decided to carve an X in that truck!

Two words after I saw that video ---"Majorly Busted"

I think it is interesting that someone had that level of security for a Hummer....I wonder if the owner had any issues in the past.

One of the other articles I read (before the guy turned himself in) said that there have been at least 12 other Hummers similarly vandalized in the Southlake area in the past two years...
the “keying” of Hummers and other vehicles has been a problem in the city for the past two years. In that time, about 24 vehicles have been targeted in residential neighborhoods and at Southlake Town Square, he said. Of those, 12 have been Hummers, Page said.

“The X’s have been used a few times and sometimes it’s just been a straight line,” Page said. “We’ve also had obscene words written on vehicles with a key.”
So, given that this truck was going to sit in the school parking lot, looks like mom & dad were pretty keen to install surveillance equipment! (It apparently paid off at least once!) And, very likely, this guy is responsible for more of these acts...
