Here is a pretty cool video animation created by an amateur photographer of a trip to Japan created with 2400 photographs resulting in a interesting 4 minutes and 43 seconds video.

The photos are from a summer 2006 trip to Japan including Tokyo, Shimizu-cho (Wakayama area), Kyoto, Tarumi, Hiroshima, Mijiyama, and Hakodate (Hokaido).

Software: iPhoto, iMovie, on a G5, 1GB memory.
Camera: Casio Exilim Z850

And for clarification, there is no video footage in this clip. It's done entirely with photos. No post-production editing was done except opening sequence (slow zoom/cross dissolve transitions of airplane). All other effects were done with manual settings in camera.
