Not always... some of us particularly like mid-week short getaways.

Hence why I dislike a lottery reservation system... I want the control, not the other way around!

Good analogy... and absolutely on the mark!

I agree about midweek...Napa?..not a problem.
But any destination that is a long trip (Maui, St Thomas, Europe...etc)
you can bet almost nobody is going to fly over for 4 days, mid-week.

Those far (long travel required) destinations are where you book 10-12 days, covering that mid-week problem!

Quintess Michael,

quintess allows 3 night stays, and 1 night stays in cities. are you saying those reservations are uncommon? no one uses city properties for business travel etc?

also, does quintess have a publicly stated "average net worth" or that sort of thing? (like some other clubs have discussed in interviews etc.)

Our City properties, especially NYC get used all the time for 1 day. (I am using one tomorrow as a matter of fact.

The European city properties, too.

My point was simply that that model creates midweek vacancies, not that it was a bad thing.

The further the property, the longer the typical reservation.
Although fome folks will do a week in Paris, 3 days in London and 4 days in Tuscany, typically those sort of vacations will be heavily impacted by a schools schedule, which tends to be in weeks, or 3/4 day weekends.

I don't understand the average net worth question.
Regarding homes? members? nights?

Long trip for who???

Some availability calendars I'm seeing are jammed with 3/4 over weekend res. that are effectively eliminating those destinations from use.

ELITE TRAVELER
Quote:
ER targets households with a Net Worth of at least $5 million and while it does have centi-millionaires and celebrities, Davis says the club's sweet spot is between $10 million to $20 million net worth. Most are the "working rich" and he compares the ER customer profile to Mercedes, not Maybach. He notes about 20 percent of club members are frequent users of private jets but makes the comparison to MarquisJet users who buy their air travel in 25 hour chunks as opposed to NetJet owners who make five year commitments and are typically worth more than $50 million. He also says his members are situational private jet fliers: They may fly commercially between big cities where there are frequent flights, but use a private jet when flying between cities that don't have direct flights or on vacation where his average guest party totals seven.
thats the kind of thing i was asking if quintess has discussed publicly.

its when ER (for example) makes statements like that i get confused as to why ER (for example) does not offer things like residential properties in asia.

3 clubs' non-residential offerings in asia/pacific >
ER - six senses hideaway koh samui
ER - uma paro
ER - wakaya club
Q - pearl beach resort bora bora
Q - hayman island
UE - a bunch of non-luxury hotels, mainly metropolitan

We have not discussed that publicly that I am aware of, but those numbers are probably not far off.

A long trip for anyone who doesn't live within a 2 or 3 hour flight radius.

Agreed, Kage... that type of mentality certainly wouldn't get you to plat or exec plat! Although, I am beginning to think you and I are the only FT'ers here!

Much less tempting that way.
Most bbs forums do not allow multiple screen names or personalities, but I decided that there are certain situations where it may be necessary or helpful for an individual to have two accounts.

I think it is fine, especially in the above example where Quintess Michael needs to be careful to always follow the corporate opinion on his posts and not deviate from them. I like to hear from Jetmikey as this represents his "true" opinion, based upon his experiences and those may differ from Quintess.

As long as it does not get out of hand and as long as an individual can keep two identities different, then I don't mind. In reality, these forums are pretty non-transparent as it is impossible to accurately determine who all the posters are.

Again, that's fine as long as members share about their destination club experiences and not hit each over the head with obvious plugs for only one DC over another or Spam us wit
