Default Destination Club affiliation disclosures

Ok, I have a question for all of you frequent posters. Do you belong to multiple clubs or are you involved in the industry in some fashion and have the opportunity to sample destinations from multiple clubs? Your fund of knowledge is quite impressive. It strikes me as more information than one would gain from website surfing.

Most DC4MS moderators (and active posters) are a member of one or more destination club. Not everyone here wants to disclose the specific club they belong to for a variety of reasons, but none of the moderators are owners, investors, CEOs or sales reps for any Destination Club, they are just normal members.

The idea for this forum actually grew from of the success of TUG (a timeshare forum) when several timeshare owners decided that the wanted something more than what the could get in a timeshare.

I try to play a neutral role as the Administrator here and don't favor any one particular club, but I am always happy to sample a destination or two from any Destination Club that may offer a tour, preview, open house, etc. and I post an occasional review of properties I visit.

Either way, there are no shills here trying to convince you to join a particular club over another. The opinions are usually very honest and sometimes a heated debate can occur between various members and even moderators. I feel this is healthy discussion on this fascination new industry and it is great to see members from almost every club participate.

We even allow Destination Club employees, CEOs, and sales reps to post as long as they disclose their club affiliation.

I can only speak for myself... that I spent probably a couple hundred hours reviewing websites, talking to different sales reps/presidents/ceos during my due diligience...

When I joined Bellehavens I still stay on top of it... for some reason this business model intrigues me..

I am either a member , had the opportunity to sample, spoken to CEO's and members of, attendend open houses, surfed websites and reviewed advertising materials of many DC's. I'm surprised I get any work done at all. But I have no financial ties with any of them.

I'm a member of Crescendo, but have no other industry ties. However, I am fascinated by the business models and I've certainly enjoyed my membership.

Disclosure:

I am a High Country Club Destination Club member.

I own the following deeded fractional ownership (a.k.a. timeshares) - 3 weeks Hilton Grand Vacation Club, 4 weeks Sea Pines Plantation @ Hilton Head Island. (I am waiting for a DC to take my timeshares as trade-in for a membership and then they will all be gone!)

I also am the sanctioning body for the following:
THE Official TravelGuy Ski-in/Ski-out property designation
THE Official TravelGuy Beach-Front property designation
THE Official TravelGuy Golf-Front property designation
THE Official TravelGuy Cost-Per-Night calculations

(Always make sure it's "Official TravelGuy" approved before traveling)

So, Travel Guy: Adding those up suggests you're a 12 week or more a year traveler. You are my idol!
