Club: DC4MS.com | I heard that BelleHavens attended the Destination Club Association (DCA) meeting in 2007, but decided NOT to join. Apparently the dues is $20,000 per year (rumored). They were also absent from the January 2008 meeting of the DCA. Does anyone know why they decided not to join and participate with the DCA? |

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | Maybe to save $20,000 per year? For a club with 100 members that is an extra $200 per year per member. An asset test by an accounting firm for such a small company would cost less than that. |

Club: High Country Club | You would think the DCA would have some type of sliding scale rate for a new Destination Club or smaller club. Exclusive Resorts has over 3,000 members...that would be less than $7 per member per year. |

Club: High Country Club | $20,000 does not seem like much for the positive PR that membership in the DCA provides. This is a small amount compared to most marketing budgets. Is it possible that they would not pass the DCA asset tests due to the way their DC is structured? |

Club: Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club | For some clubs it might be important since they borrow money and the DCA ensures they have enough money to cover deposits.. for AK, they are an equity club with no debt.. so, the membership benefits as it relates the net asset test is limited. I don't know much about the DCA, so I don't know what else it provides.. so my opinion is limited and I might not have the facts correct. |

Club: DC4MS.com | We have a special section specifically on the DCA and is accessed from the main website page near the bottom. I think the DCA is important, but very underutilized in this industry. The DCA should be promoting the entire industry, but they appear to have no teeth and seems they do NOT get involved in issues that only affect one club (i.e PE issue with a home in Charleston). One day, the DCA will be a powerful force in this industry, but currently it is more like a lame duck. |
