Club: Ultimate Escapes Elite | This sounds like a great addition, especially if it is an Outer Banks-sized homes (4-6 bedrooms). However, aren't the Cliffs developments in NORTH Carolina, not South Carolina? |

Club: UE Signature, HCC, Freedom Yacht Club | If you squint at the map, you'll see a faint red line; that is the NC/SC border - so some Cliffs communities are in NC and some in SC...

Club: Ultimate Escapes Elite | Okay, now I see -- the development extended from North Carolina to South Carolina and the Valley part is just over the South Carolina border. It should be great unless it becomes way too much of a "retirement" community versus a "lifestyle" community. |

I am looking forward to this property. OBX home was originally announced as a construction. That said, I am expecting the Cliffs home to come online in 8-10 months.

Club: LUSSO Collection | Will they allow golf there to the HCC members? Their "unlimited" golf membership per family is $150k initial fee and $675 per month, but I didn't think it included provisions for unaccompanied use... however, I could be wrong! Glad to see that at least one DC is looking into that area!

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | It would be incredible if HCC secured an unlimited membership, but I doubt they would offer that to a DC and its many members. |

I really like this area. The mountain chase scene in "The Last of the Mohicans" in in area ... but trails were closed due to frost on the day where where there (elevation again). The actual plot of movie was New York - but area was sooo pretty in movie I looked it up and added to list of places to see. One thing I have yet to do --it the 'Tail of the Dragon' (Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap and Cherohala Skyway, Graham Co, NC) and a couple of other scenic road ways. Here is your excuse to buy that sports car you always wanted ( well- it was my excuse anyways ). On a slow day - go for a walk - maps of many waterfalls available in general area. Count the Rhodendums :-) Thanks to LTTravel for mentioning golf ... fingers crossed ... that would be the icing on the cake Greg | |

Club: FS Aviara - HCC?? - what next | I was curious on who is "the Cliffs" and how well are they doing in this tough times to be a developer ... saw this article in NY Times on the 'Last of the Mohicans" property .... small world , eh ? Battle Over Developing a Scenic Mountain Tract - New York Times A small clip from article .... "A 2,200-ACRE tract in the Appalachian Mountains in western North Carolina that was the location for the movie ''The Last of the Mohicans'' is now the site of another kind of battle, this one between a developer of high-priced residential communities and the state of North Carolina. Reaching across rounded-top mountains and accented with three celebrated waterfalls, the land has been condemned by the State of North Carolina, which took possession in October. A South Carolina developer, James B. Anthony, the chief executive of the Cliffs Communities, had bought the property a year earlier, outbidding the Conservation Fund, a nonprofit group that was acting on behalf of the state......" Greg ps '''' did a search with ..... James B. Anthony, The Cliffs Communities, Inc. ps - does HCC membership allow it's members benefits given to other 'Cliffs' members ?? |

Club: High Country Club | Greg that article is 7 years old! Seems like things have progressed considerably in that time. Corporate: Historical Timeline - The Cliffs Communities 8 golf courses are part of this massive development but I gather they are all private - I really, really hope that HCC gets playing privileges as part of this purchase! |

Club: A&K Residence Club | I'm a big fan of the Cliffs communities. Very well done, high end developments, with great scenery. I prefer the Cliffs at Glassy, Keowee and Walnut Cove, but all are scenic. They are private courses, but run by the developer. I'd be surprised if HCC hadn't arranged some sort of golf access, as that is the primary amentity at the communities. They do, however, offer some other nice amenities. Having some drive-to destinations is a big plus, particularly for short-notice reservations. Well done HCC! |

| i also saw some stuff discussing potential ground stability problems, i think at high carolina.. GregGH, very interesting, if i ever stay down there ill have to keep the last of the mohicans score running in the background. looks like HCC would get 3/4BR detached single family. |

Club: A&K Residence Club | Kag is correct - High Carolina. Typically, IIRC, if you are a member of one Cliffs course, you have access to all of them. Very nice benefit for the golfers. Hopefully an HCC member will have a chance to check out what golf privileges HCC will have. |
