Club: High Country Club | I just checked into the High Country Club Maui - Mauka property and words can not describe how impressive this property is. Let me state it another way...I think I have died and this must be heaven. The HCC website clearly does not do this place justice as this place is more like a Solstice property than anything I have ever seen from any Destination Club, in fact This place exceeds anything I have ever seen from ER, LUSSO and/or Quintess . This place is HUGE and there are tons of places to explore. In fact, there may be little reason to ever leave the property, but this is Maui after all. I will post some updates, but a complete review of this incredible property will take a while and will be pretty long. On a scale of 1-10...this place is a 20!!! I would like to tell you to immediately book this place whenever you can...but I really want to be selfish and HOG this place all to myself and forget about the other HCC properties. Dear HCC....I LOVE you guys....Man! |

Club: Quintess | steamboat bill: glad to hear that the maui home blows your richter scale all the way to 20. welcome to the wow factor. The Quintess homes really deliver on the wow factor--so its great that HCC is in its own small way offering people the wow factor--so besides "useful reviews" that I mentioned in a previous thread. Hopefully, people can do as good jobas you in describing the amazing homes-as well as commenting on the bad/less than happy experiences that they have. Thanks for a great review |

Club: High Country Club | This is surreal...we just watched Tiger Woods win the US Open and my son just walked out the back door to play golf on our own course. He is loving the chipping and putting as the greens here are better than most courses in Florida. The weather is perfect...sunny, blue skies, cool breeze. Unreal home. Also, last night for fathers day, we had steak and scallops dinner on the back patio under an almost full moon and surrounded by 10 gas powered tiki torches. I took a nice pic of that and it came out pretty good. I have about 40 or more pics of this property and will upload them soon. We took the drive into Wailea yesterday and it took about 30 minutes and we drove the back way via the sugar cane fields. I liked the Wailea area, but it is pretty crowded as compared to this location. I see ER has 2 homes there, Quintess has 1 home there and UE has 4 homes there. They all look like they are close to the Grand Wailea area and that is fine, but this HCC property SMOKES them all. Being on the beach is nice, but this home up the hill is spiritual. We prefer this home to any other at any price we have seen. This place would rent for $10k-20k per week if on the open market. I am having a party here Tuesday night for the other HCC family staying in the 2 bedroom unit near Wailea and a friend from TUG. There will be a bunch of kids here and they will love it. I will try to get them to post independent reviews. This home is so incredible...beyond my words and the photos can't capture the immense size of the property. My camera images are not able to capture all the glory of this home....I don't want to leave. |

Club: High Country Club | I have a funny story to tell about last night but will delay publishing it so it does not come up for discussion at the Tuesday night party as my wife would be very embarrassed. Let's just say that there was more than one full moon out last night on the Maui property. I also met the landscaper here and talked with him for over 1 hour walking around the property. He stated that this property when it had the full 9 course USGA rated course was a FULL time job for him. I also invited him for Tuesday diner. He stated the previous owner lives in a nicer home up the mountain and I invited him for Tuesday dinner. In case I forget to mention it....this place is awesome....I simply don't have any desire to leave the area and explore Maui. What an unexpected feeling once I got here. I did book a Blue Hawaii helicopter ride for the family on Friday for $400 per person as I am too lazy to drive around the island this week. FYI - I put about 800 miles on the rental car last week on the Big Island. |

Club: High Country Club | I am sure it can, but they may not be approved to land in a residential area. Here is a link to a PDF with several photos of the property. These photos are about 1 year old and not much has changed except the got rid of the sand traps. High Country Club new Maui property I am planning a party Tuesday night and invited the other HCC member family staying in Wailea and someone from TUG and even the gardener. |

Club: High Country Club | ok...this is a 100% true story that happened a few hours ago. We are staying at the High Country Club Maui property ($2.6m property) and it is incredible and very private. This home is located in the upcountry of Maui (Kula) on 2-3 acres and has a wall around the entire complex and a security gate just for the driveway access. My 9yo son and I decided to go into the hot tub tonight under a full moon. We hopped in sans bathing suites and enjoyed some time in the hot tub under the stars. My son said..."hey dad....lets moon the moon" and I asked him what he meant about that...well not more than 30 seconds later we got out of the hot tub buck naked, ran into the backyard, down the hill and mooned the moon. Then we picked up some golf clubs and chipped a few golf balls onto the private green and then putted a few just for fun. They we ran back up the backyard to the rope swing and both swung from the tree. We then ran up the side backyard near the pool to the croquet field and then played a very short game of croquet...at that time it was getting cold outside as the temp is 20 degrees cooler than by the beach and we jumped back into the hot tub. I didn't bother telling my wife or daughter, but my son and I had a blast as we both "mooned the moon" Before anyone flames me as a strange pervert or threatening me with Child Protective Services...it is very dark and private here and you can't see any details if you are standing more than 15 feet away and the backyard is HUGE. I am not a nudist and have never done anything like this before and I am not sure why I did it tonight. However, I just wanted my son to forever remember the time we both "mooned the Maui moon" during a "full moon" and if I ever kick the bucket any time soon, I want my son to always remember that his dad was cool enough to take his dare and go streaking in the backyard. To any HCC members...if you ever visit this incredible property, try to imagine the sight of us doing this on June 18th about 9pm...well then again, perhaps you should forget this ever happened. Lucky for us...it was dark and no hidden video cameras in sight. Hopefully I did not break any HCC rules....oops. |

Club: High Country Club | The party was awesome....we had the other HCC family staying at the Palma (near Wailea) and then the family that built the home (and also a HCC member) and then an online friend from TUG (non HCC member). I grilled steaks, chicken, pineapple and shrimp. My wife made salad, rosotta, and we had wine, drinks, macadamania nut brownies, etc. Everyone had a great time and there were about 9 kids here all in the 6-12yo range and they seemed to have a wonderful time. This home is really designed for entertaining and I am glad we could host some new friends. Dinner out in the gazebo surrounded by gas lit tiki torches was surreal. This place is like a mini Grand Wailea Resort, but the weather is better. |

Club: High Country Club | That sounds like a great night. I wish my family with two in the 6-12 range could have joined you! The previous homeowner is an investor in HCC, right? Did he have any interesting HCC tidbits to pass along? |
