Club: UE Signature, HCC, Freedom Yacht Club | I have been doing some research/planning for our upcoming trip to Playa Del Carmen, and I came across some posts in Playa Del Carmen forums that mention a new disco called BANG that opened a couple of months ago, adjacent to the south side of the Luna Encantada complex where the two HCC units are located. Apparently they play "techno-disco at ear-splitting volumes until 7am" and was a significant enough issue that people staying at Luna Encantada couldn't sleep. Since it is on the south side of the complex, I am assuming that the beachfront unit is most affected, since it is on the south side, but I would think that the penthouse would also be affected, as the complex is not very large. Apparently they are building a large 'noise-reduction wall' - is that finished yet, and if so, is it working? Has anyone been to Playa Del Carmen since this disco opened (January or February)? If so, which unit were you in and how bad was it? |

Club: HCC | I have not but remember the said construction in progress. We stayed in the beach front unit. I do recall hearing music from the north side from another club. Main windows along the beach are very well insulated, those in the bedrooms not as much. My sister stayed in the penthouse unit a few months back and didn't report any noise problems from the north. |

Club: HCC | I have not been to either of the HCC Playa Del Carmen condos, but I have been to Playa. My sister is using one of our weeks in the Penthouse unit this week, and she has not noticed any issue with noise. She called tonight to say Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, and she is the type who would have complained if there was an issue. We regularly vacation together at the Four Seasons Aviara and she is used to being pampered. I was initially concerned when I read your post, but her call tonight assuaged any doubt I had! While Playa does have a great nightlife, I'd rather enjoy it occasionally rather than have it in my face all the time a la Cancun. Hope this helps! |

Club: Ultimate Escapes Elite | I asked my Member Service Director this answer directly (doesn't that seem the better way to go for info?) -- anyway, here is the answer: "Yes, there is a new noisy Beach Club next door to the Luna Encantada. Our owners have built a wall separating the Luna Encantada from the Beach Club. Since then, the noise has been reduced significantly. We are going to do even more work and seal the sliding glass doors to help reduce the noise that much more." I would still be curious what DC Fan's sister said if asked directly about this. I know sometimes relatives are so glad to be using our DC's that they would never say anything negative at all. Just a thought... |

Club: HCC | DCTraveler, I asked her yesterday about the noise, and she said it was bad on Friday and Saturday. She said she was told that HCC was improving the seals on the doors and some of the windows. She didn't mention the noise until I asked directly about it, so it certainly didn't ruin her vacation. |
