Club: High Country Club | Noticed a lot of obsession with locales in the threads - including my own post regarding NYC closing. SUGGESTIONS: 1 - HCC should put real coffee machines in each of the units (two of my trips had lukewarm results - no where near hot) including grinders 2 - Members could procure their own beans locally or bring them along on their trip - I have found at my local suburban Philadelphia shop a great Organic Dominica Barahona that I buy 5 lbs at a time - kicks SBs rear! 3 - Units should be stocked with REAL coffee cups/mugs/tankards - NYC cups were a joke and Palm Springs left much to be desired. My dear mother in law just gave me for my birthday Starbucks Grande To Go Mug by Starbucks Coffee - StarbucksStore.com - AWESOME. |

Club: High Country Club | I have to admit we take our own SB coffee as well on trips as well. I like the idea of high quality coffee makers and adding grinders. I personally like coffee cups on the smaller side because I like to drink my coffee hot. I'd rather fill up a couple times with hot coffee then have to either drink it fast or drink it cold. |

Club: High Country Club | I thought I heard on the radio that there is a Save my Starbucks website where the public is gathering support to convinve SB mgmt. to reconsider some of the annouced closings. Since several DCs have units at 1600 Broadway, maybe this forum could rally the troops to get some action on the grass roots website. My wife carries her SB with her. Actually, about the only seriously bad thing that happened on our trip to the HCC one-BR unit in Tuscany was the unit's coffee maker had broken before our arrival. I am an occassional coffee drinker, but it was pretty devastating discovery for my wife. And mornings aren't her best mood cycle any way! The on premise restaurant, even with Americano coffee requested, was too strong for her. The Italians consider American style/strength coffee a joke - stained water was the translation I think. Here is that website: Save Our Starbucks |

Club: High Country Club | Ahh ... a Starbucks addicts anonymous thread. Right up my alley. You'll notice that my reviews ALWAYS take Starbrew locations into account for the property rating. We always take the Starbeans with us for in-property brewing but it's not quite the same as the nectar served up by a part-time barista! We also travel with four official Starbucks mugs of the 16oz variety. The second set of mugs are for when the first set of mugs are in the dishwasher. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ SO1600BWSB!!!! |
