Club: High Country Club - Corporate | Do think it is possible that if I had a week that I signed up for and I wanted to change it to another destination for the same week with someone from the forum - How would the HCC look at this? Another words - If I had La Costa for New Year's week and I found someone who had Orlando for that same week and they wanted to trade with me - would this be possible? |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Brian, I would say your first problem would be finding the person who had the unit you wish to exchange for, to begin with... And, if your club has some sort of "cancellation wait-list", there might be other issues. You are probably best to talk directly to HCC about this one!

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | I would think that unless you had a corporate membership and the person you want to trade with had a corporate membership, you could not trade. If you could, I think that this would present a real problem. ER addressed this and has said that they will not allow trades and have set up a cancellation watch list (waiting list). Then someone would always book the prime destinations and times in order to trade them later, creating a real problem. It is not the kind of problem or member that you would want in a DC. Yes, you may have a legitimate reason once or twice to have to trade and it is not a scam, but this will not do the club well in the long run. |

Club: HCC | LT makes some good points. However, if it was the same type of reservation exchange (i.e. Long Term Holiday) it would be easier to digest. I've known people to contact HCC to ask for similar requests but don't know if they were honored. |

Club: Strip | I dont know why you wouldn't be able to trade your time with someone else's... I dont see how it would effect the club in a bad way.... the problem I would see is just finding someone to switch with. |

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | You don't think that would make members make desireable reservations, even if they are not interested in going so they could trade them later? This type of game playing goes on with Timeshares all the time and is something that they don't need in the DC industry. |

or is it switching days at different times? Even then I dont see the harm. I dont see the incentive to sign up premium days and then try to trade them away for the same amount of days somewhere else at a different time. Unless I was getting more days or something extra then that would be a problem. | |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Again, I ask... how likely is it that the person who has Cabo booked will even WANT to trade for Park City? IMHO, I would think that whom ever booked the "other" week would probably already have their friends onboard, and airfare purchased, so the likelyhood of this even becoming a viable scenario is slim. And, to answer the question of other clubs' policies... it has already been mentioned that ER discourages such, and I feel certain that LUSSO would, as well. (Given privacy issues, I would doubt you would even be able to get the name of the person who has the week booked that you desire!)

Club: ER, HCC Corporate, DHH Lite, Bud Lite (A few too many) | Let's say someone (#1) really wants Park City and is beat to the punch by someone else(#2). Then someone else (#3) books Cabo, even though they don't really want to go, didn't really have a preference, but wanted to book something. Then #2 and #3 trade. Do you think that is fair for #1 who was beat to the punch by maybe just a few seconds trying to book a Christmas Holiday at Park City to not be able to go to Park City because #2 changed their mind and didn't want to go and is now trading for another destination? That is why ER has a wait list and I believe so does Lusso and perhaps some of the other DC's. You book what you want and if there is something else that you want you are placed on a wait list. If you cancel your reservation, it goes to the first person on the wait list, not to someone you just want to trade with. I think that is a much more fair procedure. |

Club: LUSSO Collection | Very nice analogy, LT... and yes, LUSSO does have a cancellation wait list.
