Default ER Grand Cayman

We just returned from a great vacation at Exclusive Resorts Grand Cayman. My family says it was one of their best so far.

Exclusive Resorts has had two types of accommodations at Grand Cayman - The residences at the Ritz and a new villa development which is on the canal and golf course. The residences are closer to the beach, in the Ritz proper. The Villas are not on the beach but a golf cart ride away. They are roomier and more private. Some prefer one over the other. Exclusive Resorts, by contract, has given up the residences now about 8 months after the villas were completed, but they are negotiating trying to get a new contract for the residences because many members prefer them.

This last trip we were in the residences and the service was top quality Ritz Carlton Service, the staff always greeting us by our names, excellent service. When they make a restaurant reservation, within 30 minutes a typed confirmation with driving directions are placed under your door and 15 minutes before your reservation your car is waiting for you in front of the door with the air conditioner on and four bottles of cold water waiting. That is only one example of the great service. It was much better this time than when we were there over Christmas when it was way too crowded.

We were lucky to be vacationing with Miley Cyrus(At least the kids thought so) who was staying with friends at the Exclusive Resorts Villas as well as John McEnroe, Jim Courier, Kevin Bacon and others. We didn’t party with them (and only think that we may have seen them) but it was interesting to know they were in the same hotel. It is amazing that they were able to get around without any attention.

Miley was even able to get around without any paparazzi as she was driving around in her golf cart at the Exclusive Resorts villas. This was during the photo shoot scandal so it was nice to know that you could get some privacy there. We are glad we didn't have to pay the $26,000 rack rate for the week vacation in the three bedroom residence and used our Exclusive Resorts membership.

As they say a picture is worth 1000 words so I have attached PDF slideshow (less our photos with us in them- though excuse the mess in some of the photos). I am not great at writing reviews so I thought the photos would be more useful. The first photos are of the rooms of the residences and the next photos are rooms at the villas, with some activity slides and scenery slides thrown in after. You can see similar pictures at the Exclusive Resorts website but those photos are so professional, they almost look fake. I think the “regular” pictures are more accurate.

BTW - the only units RC rents on a nightly basis are on floors 1 to 3 of the north tower, correct?

ER's units are on the 3-5 floors of the south tower. It was very quiet and I believe that the homes are full ownership. I know the north tower also has lock off units so they do rent out rooms alone as well as the larger apartments.

Great photos....I am glad you split the downloads into smaller pieces.

I have been to Grand Cayman about 10x as that is where my honeymoon was and we really like that island.

I remember touring the pre-construction Ritz back in 2001 and even remember the Holiday Inn it replaced. The Ritz is an incredible property, even thought it seemed to take forever to build.

Hurricane Ivan really packed a punch to CG in 2004 and they are still rebuilding several areas.
