Club: DC4MS.com | Exclusive Resorts may be the #1 largest and most successful Destination Club in history, but their new "non-refundable" optional fees have dramatically affected the total cost to join if a member ever decides to resign their membership. Most prospective Destination Clubs members only focus on the initial membership fees and annual dues, rather than on the refundable fee policy as they are interested in participating in a wonderful travel experience, rather than being concerned about the ramifications if they ever decide to leave the club. However, Exclusive Resorts lowered their refundable membership fee from 80% to 75% and created optional 100% non-refundable holiday access and family sharing fees that have a large impact on the costs to join their club. Using an example of someone considering an Exclusive Resorts membership and wants to add (1) $79,000 Peak Holiday week fee and the $19,000 Extended family sharing plan fee. 20 nights = $297,900 membership fees ($147,975 non-refundable) = 50% percentage of initial membership fees refunded 30 nights = $367,900 membership fees ($165,475 non-refundable) = 55% percentage of initial membership fees refunded 40 nights = $437,900 membership fees ($182,295 non-refundable) = 58% percentage of initial membership fees refunded If you are a member for only 10 years, then the non-refundable fees represent the following costs. 20 nights = $14,798 per year = $740 per night 30 nights = $16,548 per year = $552 per night 40 nights = $18,230 per year = $456 per night |
