Default issues with The Portofino Club / Pinnacle Equity

Hello,
We are looking for companies that have had issues with The Portofino Club and bills, we are collecting information to send to our legal team and anything would help...

They had us doing a move between two locations in NYC (680 Madison Ave and 18 West 48th) the move was back in March 08 and we didn't get paid since then. We got the run around from Chris Tapp and Vallery White, always promising that a check is about to be cut and mailed...

After checking with the Madison Ave building management we were told that Portofino owes them a lot of money and they just wanted them out of the building and that was the reason why they didn't warned us in advance...
The funny thing about it that it's not a lot of money ($6265) if a company can't pay a small bill as this for over three months I guess that something is wrong.

Please PM us if you have any information about other cases like this, it will help up show a pattern and establish our case in court.
Thanks

DMoving has sent me several PMs asking about Portofino as they had a problem with payments and I asked them to gather some "facts" before posting.

If anyone can add to this discussion or help resolve DMoving's problem it would be a good service of this forum.

As a personal note to Portofino and DC4MS readers, I am very disappointed in how this Destination Club is running their business. This ultimately hurts the entire DC industry and we all will suffer.

Two different DCs have expressed an interest to me about buying the homes, assets, membership base of Portofino, yet Ron Tapp has not returned my multiple phone calls, e-mails, or fax requesting more information about his club.

I am trying to determine how many homes are owned and how many are leased.

Unfortunately, it is getting time to put Portofino Destination Club back on my "Destination Club Deathwatch"

Perhaps DMoving can post a short inventory of possessions and perhaps auction off these items to someone on this forum or the Tapp's could simply pay their bills.

680 Madison Avenue - AKA The Helmsley Carlton House
This property was leased (Apt 1503 and Apt 601) They didn't pay the rent for both of these apartments.

The are now at 18 West 48th Street in New York (apt 31B) lease again... (if they are still there...the move was on March 27th 2008)

Also we have storage unit with furniture that they didn't pay the rent (the credit card was declined)
We still need to wait until June 15th before we can auction off everything (unless they pay the storage fee's before then)

Over the Phone they seemed to be nice but when the time came to pay the bill they are avoiding everything... Chris Tapp told me that he's no longer working with them??? so now it's Vallary and Ron Tapp I guess...

Here is a link to one NYC property and a slide show of 11 photos.

Here is the other 2 bedroom NYC property with 12 photos.

Can you identify the furniture you have in storage from these photos?

Yes.
and not only that, they owe money to the old building, they were on track to be evicted according to their management company.
I wish we would have know about it before... I don't think they ever intended to pay the move bill in the first place but hopefully we will be able to spread the rumor out there and prevent other companies from doing business with shady people like Ron Tapp.
