I have called Portofino several times over the last two weeks and have left multiple messages for everyone there (Ron, Valerie, Christian, Chris) and have not received any call backs.

I then called their "media contact" as listed on their website:

Guess what?

Katie B. Wilkinson informed me that she has not worked with Portofino since August 2007, yet she did have many positive things to say about Ron Tapp and the club. She did not have any new insights or updates that I could post here.

Thus, here are a few questions for Ron Tapp (in case he reads this)

1. How are things going?
2. How was your member meeting last month?
3. Have you sold any properties?
4. Are thing getting any better or worse?
5. Are members still using the club properties?
6. How are the club finances going?
7. Are all the bills getting paid on time?
8. Do you have any intentions of selling the assets of the club?
9. What are the "owned" homes vs the "leased homes" ?
10. Are members paying their annual dues on time?

In a worst case scenario, they may be agressively looking for a buyout.

Valerie White, their accounting manager, called me today and stated the planned membership meeting was not well attended and they are now focusing on having multiple conference calls with their members.

There is no official notification as they are still trying to determine what changes need to be made to the club.

She advised me to e-mail my questions to Rob Tapp, which I did and will post here, if he ever returns my calls or e-mails.

Good news....Ron Tapp just called me and informed me that the meeting he had with his members went very well and several members (but not all) have agreed to invest more money in a private offering and become equity members in the club.

He feels this is a very positive step in the right direction for his club and expects to announce the details next week.

I will try to post some more info later but it is now 5:30pm on a Friday night and you know what that means.
